Generator looks tilted
Hello, I am in the process of selling my 2000 23.5TK.  I had an inspection done on it and the RV tech informed the buyers, and me, that the generator shouldn’t be angled and there should be a skid plate that holds it up and levels it out.  From what I can see it looks like other Lazy Daze RVs of that year appear angled. Underneath, there is a metal grate for air intake, and a large metal plate below the oil pan and motor of the generator (with a hole to drain the oil). I have attached some pics (will be posted once moderator approves), can anyone tell me if there is anything missing?  Or, could anyone take a pic of theirs.  I think the RV place misinformed the buyers.

Looks like a normal Onan Emerald generator.
They are always mounted at an angle and bounce around a lot when started or shut down.
The inspector may have been more familiar with the later Microquiet 4000, which appears to be level.

Hi  ColoradoBax;  Yes, my '99 has the same generator, yes it is tilted and it was designed and built this way from the 'get go' by Onan. I assume they had a reason. Your 'inspector', and I use that term very loosely, should be corrected and issue an apology both to you and your potential buyer.
There is no excuse why that 'inspector' couldn't verify his thought that the generator may have had something wrong with it, by looking at images on the internet of other Emerald generators. A quick perusal of many hundreds of pictures would show that they were designed that way.   Accusing your rig, where it is obvious that 23 years ago the generator was installed that way, isn't a good look for someone whom you are paying for their expertise!
I would make a review comment, and would start doubting their credentials as to whether they should be inspecting anything, much less charging for it.
If you feel comfortable sharing with us, (or me) I'd like you to identify this business, or send me a private message.  RonB

Thank you!  I will contact them today or tomorrow and see how they respond to their mistake.  I'll send you the companies name in a private message but will share publicly once I have had a chance to talk to them.
