Re: Bathroom Fan Reply #2 – December 16, 2023, 02:05:42 pm QuoteWhat brand of fan was itI'm not really sure. I'm replacing the cover on another of the fans and that one is a Fantastic so this one probably is too. Any three speed switch would work as long as the threaded shaft fits the hole. Anyhow, I just removed the faulty one and got one that looked just like it! jor 1 Likes
Re: Bathroom Fan Reply #4 – December 16, 2023, 05:53:27 pm A future upgrade would be to change the power-wasting stock speed control and switch to a PWM (pulse wave modulated) speed control. At lower speeds, it is much more efficient, providing the fan with the power it needs without wasting any power heating the resistors All three of our commonly used fans have been converted.. With the PWM control, the fan speed is continuously controllable, providing the exact speed you want.PWM power supplies are made in a wide variety of sizes, you will need a supply capable of providing 5-amps or more, Amazon, eBay, and Temu have many to choose from. While not presently available, this PWM control is used in the FF ceiling fans. Re: Bathroom Fan Reply #7 – December 17, 2023, 02:43:22 am Hi Jor; I used this RioRand controller. A lot of overkill, but not stressed either. RioRand Upgraded Adjustable DC Motor Speed PWM Controller 10V 12V 24V 30V... I fitted it into the fan itself. It can also be stuffed into the ceiling empty space beside the fan and just wired in. I also got a pair of these Riorand DC 3V 6V 12V 24V 35V 5A Motor Speed Controller PWM Speed Control... to use as dimmers on the LED lights in the main cabin. Sometimes they are too bright. The on/off switches are still used as light switches. RonB 2 Likes As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.
