Shake down trip
We got back home today after only two days as the snow was over the horizon and that’s close enough. North Sterling SP was empty again, 4 campgrounds 3 of which were closed and the one we were staying in has 50 spots with just us.
Tremendous outfit ! Only thing I missed was the airbags, we downsized from a 36 DP so we were a little anxious, no worries mate. This outfit is much more user friendly, easier to drive and way less complicated. With gas at $2.85 to $3.25 and diesel at $4.60 or more. My pal on the west coast is telling me $6.60 and more.
Can’t hardly wait for spring !

First thought was "WHAT? $2.85?" Just paid $4.98 at  Costco Folsom CA.
Second was welcome.  Glad everything went well. First chain control over Donner Summit on I-80.
Good call to beat the snow.

Two days ago I paid $2.99 at Flying J north of Tampa. I understand why so many are fleeing CA now.

Mike, as a native Californian, I can forthrightly say the cost of living here is just one reason people are fleeing our fair state.

Still hoping to pay you and Elizabeth a visit in the future!

It’s a shame about California, we lived in Santa Barbara in the late seventies and it was falling off the cliff then. With the price of living there and the traffic it’s just not all that.

Traveling around the West for the last 50 years, every town we loved in the past has turned into a major city, the same goes for our trips east, no place is the same as it was in the 'good old days'.
This is a problem for those of us who are older and have seen things generally head downhill everywhere.

It is best to leave the negative opinions behind and return to discussions about LDs and RVing.

We can't wait to hit the road next week and head South for a few Months.  We are the most North here in the PNW of our family since our son Sean moved from Anchorage to Reno.  We will be in Portland area a few days, Reno area maybe weeks, North and Central California a few weeks and then on to Baja for months!  Maybe in the spring reverse the whole thing back Oh and we plan to catch a total solar eclipse down south!  and we hope to see some LD folks where ever we end up!
