There are a few reviews on YouTube.  One of the negatives is the air conditioner runs all the time even when the temperature is satisfied.   Those owners report the sound isn’t so loud as to be bothersome.

Having the fan moving air all the time I see as a benefit, the compressor will start and stops as the thermostat calls for more or less cold. That is how our Dometic A/C works.

There might be a switch setting that has fan on or allows it to cycle.

We’d also be interested in a review.  There’s a few reviews on YouTube.  One of the negatives is the air conditioner runs all the time even when the temperature is satisfied.   Those owners report the sound isn’t so loud as to be bothersome.   At least two RVers reported the unit struggles with removing humidity.

These are great points, and I'll post a summary of our experiences with the Houghton next year some time. I'd bet JOR (John) will as well -- and very likely do a better job at it. It has nearly perfectly met our needs -- so far.

The interior fan does run all of the time, but is variable speed. I probably saw the same reviews as you when I was researching this, but decided it was worth it (for us). When the compressor is off, the interior fan drops to its lowest setting and we don't really notice it. Others might, however. When the compressor kicks on, the interior fan speed increases (but that is variable).

You cannot turn off the interior fan completely without turning off the A/C. You can, however, manually control the fan speed or leave it on automatic (variable). At night, we manually set it to max fan speed for a little bit of white noise.

When the compressor is off, there is no sound that you can hear coming from the exterior housing. The outside fan cycles on/off with the compressor. My experience using this A/C has me believing the folks who credit the two separate fans (and avoidance of the design/engineering compromises associated with having one fan for the whole unit) for giving the unit better performance in terms of noise and humidity removal. People smarter than me can verify or debunk that.

We have found, in humid Florida, that the Houghton does a superior job at removing moisture -- noted by how substantially quicker dishes, bath towels, or counters that have been wiped down with a wet rag dry compared to our 2017 Dometic Penguin II. The air in the coach also "feels" drier.

Between trips, the LD rests in covered storage (w/electrical hookup). I have started using the "dehumidifier" setting while it's parked there, which seems to be doing a great job. That setting does set the temp to 76*, and I'm not really sure how different that is compared to just setting the temp to 80* etc. in A/C mode.
