SoftStartRV for the AC
I've ordered a SoftStart for the AC ( Products - SoftStartRV )    Has anyone done an install of this?
It looks not too difficult, but since I have no electrical experience, I'm not sure if it's something I can do or have a shop do it.  Their tech support looks great, talked to them and they said they'll even walk you though the process while you're on the roof!   they also include all the connectors needed to install.
My motivation for this upgrade is my generator stopped running* two weeks ago (still haven't got it diagnosed yet, but suspect fuel pump/filter, with appt made at Almaden RV on Aug 2 to fix it hopefully!) and from what I've read the SoftStart will ease the strain on the gen when compressor kicks on.    Plus it's quieter and couldn't hurt even when on shore power.
Any reason not to do it?
thanks!

Can’t help with the install, had AM Solar install mine as part of my upgrade.

The SoftStart won’t solve your generator cutting out, just make it easier to start, less stress on your AC

We like the Soft Start, it reduces the strain on the electrical system when the compressor starts, especially during periods of low voltage . When needing to run the A/C at night, the thump when the compressor starts is greatly reduced.
I recommend getting it.

Agreed, less stress on the AC and reduced loud thump on startup make it worth it, thanks!     Also, like you said Larry it will also help with low voltage you sometimes get at a pedestal.
