Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #1 – March 25, 2024, 12:31:14 pm Hi Ron (S), Thanks for that information. It looks to be competition for the RecPro unit. I like the idea of a remote control and timer operation. The instruction manual says the rooftop unit weighs 85 pounds which is about right for A/C units. I haven't figured out the differences between the different model numbers. They wanted the minimum thickness of roof to be 3.5". I don't think my roof is that thick. I like that it doesn't intrude into the motorhome ceiling room as much, and the vents fold up when not being used. I'm not tall enough that I hit the Dometic I have now. There have definitely been times when the 13.5 kbtuh wasn't enough, so 18k btuh would be welcome. I'm not sure how blowing air only at the back seating area of my 'TK would work as far as keeping the cabover area cool also. I'm waiting for our first purchaser here to comment on performance! RonB
Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #2 – March 25, 2024, 01:32:56 pm The Furrion Chill Cube 18K is a quantum step above the RecPro. The RecPro is a well-built conventional A/C with a few nice features. The Furrion Chill® Cube is a variable-speed (output), inverter-controlled A/C with a built-in soft-start. It uses less power than the RecPro and can be set to limit the power for solar and battery operation. It uses the same features that home and split-unit A/Cs have used for several years, no new technology here.I could not find a cost listing, it must be so new that no one is stocking it yet. I would hope other manufacturers of rooftop A/Cs take the hint and upgrade their A/Cs to modern specifications.Larry 2 Likes
Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #3 – March 25, 2024, 06:15:40 pm The Furrion Chill Cube, the new model, seems to be unavailable as Larry said. The model number ending in 'PS' may be in white. I edited this post. The links I posted were for the old models. I'll be waiting for the new one to show up. I suspect that Lippert will change the marketplace for roof air units. I'm expecting a trip to Florida and similarly hot/humid areas in my future plans, so the extra cooling ability looks good. Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #4 – March 25, 2024, 06:33:04 pm This sounds like a really exciting new product. It looks like the price is ballpark competitive with the regular A/Cs. I installed a RecPro last summer but if I were looking now, I would love to give this baby a try.jor 1 Likes
Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #5 – March 25, 2024, 07:01:18 pm "Main roof unit: Furrion Chill® Air Conditioner 15,500 BTU - White 2021123799 FACR15SA- $950"This is a 15K, conventional A/C, not the 18K inverter variable-speed A/C that Ron S. listed.Searching the model numbers shown in the owner manual link shows no source of sales yet. Good chance Ron S's link is a promotional announcement of a someday soon-to-be-available product. All the extra parts listed needed to install the new A/C probably are the same. I bet the main unit is a lot more than $950.Larry 1 Likes
Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #6 – March 25, 2024, 09:41:23 pm Coming from the refrigeration field, it looks to me that this company is spot on for the finer details. I don't think I have ever seen a nicer put together RV A/C unit. Most are borderline j..k I used to hate to work on them and only did it as a side job.Jon 2 Likes
Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #7 – March 30, 2024, 09:56:43 am I've been waiting on it to come to market for a few months. There is a interview where they say all the features of the 18k should be released in smaller models shortly. They started the press release a while ago so maybe next year? I'm in the market.

They'll be able to order it then. Installed mine this weekend and it's pretty good. Been running it on 70f for 3 days and it's doing well! FYI the Keystone PN is K720189 and the ceiling assembly PN is K720190.”Some of the comments certainly take the shine off this AC. Nevertheless it is interesting.
Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #9 – August 15, 2024, 02:38:27 am The Furrion Chill Cube 18k BTU variable speed A/C will become available right after Onan starts delivering their new Inverter generators.I hate when manufacturers preview their new products too many months before the first units are built, we heard the same preview almost six months ago. I’m still surprised and disappointed it is taking so long for the RV industry to adopt a technology that has been around for years.Larry

Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #11 – August 15, 2024, 09:51:11 am For replacement, does the factory hole cutout where the existing AC typically a standard size or are modifications going to need to be made? Thats my biggest worry.
Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #12 – August 15, 2024, 10:41:22 am The original A/C cutout is a standard industry size. One non-standard thing LD does is to 'glue' the gasket between the A/c and the roof. When I replace ours one day, I plan to replicate the factory install and 'glue' the gasket. Rich
Re: Furrion Chill® Cube RV Rooftop Air Conditioner “New Design” Reply #13 – August 15, 2024, 01:32:43 pm Hi; The new sizes for roof installed vent items may be caused by a metric conversion from English. Roof A/C Cover reply #18 with the RecPro Houghton plenum ducting fitting into a 14"x14" hole. About a 1/64" mismatch that requires shaving a bit off of one side of the hole. RonB
