Michelin recalls Agilis Cross-Climate C-metric tires
Michelin has recalled Agilis Cross-Climate C-metric tires, including the ones I bought in 2020 for my LD.

Safety & Recalls: MICHELIN® AGILIS® CrossClimate®

The problem seems to be more of a labeling issue than a safety issue.  "These tires are marked with the Alpine Symbol1, but do not meet the traction requirements for snow tires."

While it's a bit of a hassle to get the tires replaced, I'm not upset to get new tires to replace a set that I've been driving for a few years.  I had a similar outcome with a set of Michelins I bought around 2011, IIRC.

Letters should go out in the mail in June.  I'll probably drive mine through the summer RV season before having them replaced.

edit - I'm reading that I might have to contact a dealer within 60 days of receiving a recall notice.  Anyone have experience with this?

Keep in mind that the recalled C-metric tires are directional.  Michelin makes another non-directional light truck tire called the Agilis CrossClimate.  As far as I can tell, those tires aren't affected.

Thanks for the heads up Rich

Sigh, right before I head out to Alaska for the summer.  At least it wasn’t while I was on the road!

I have 2022 Agilis tires on my TK, need to go check to see if they are included.

Hi Dave;  The tires come in two versions C Metric and LT Metric'. From Rich...Quote    " Agilis® CrossClimate® C-Metric sizes are commercial service heavy duty light truck tires, with a design that differs from the Agilis® CrossClimate® LT-Metric design. The LT-Metric tire design meets the requirement for the Alpine Symbol and all LT-Metric sizes are qualified for severe snow service.   " end quote.
My tires are in the date code range, and the 'FK' factory, 2019/20 but are not identified by any 'Metric'  label that I could find. I don't have the pictured tread of the LT Metric truck tires.   Maybe you wanted the 'snow tire' rating.  It appears that the largest tires recalled are for Transit vans and lighter weight vehicles. The Michelin site Rich provided did specify the LT 225 75R16C tires.  But it wasn't clear about the 'E' load range. The C after the tire diameter seems to specify the 'C' Metric.
Date codes 0117 through 1423 are affected.  The first week of 2017 to the middle of April, 2023. About 5 1/2 years of production. So that would be most of us during the last five years.  edited: My tires do have the 'snow flake' logo, so I can (but don't want to) drive in snow.
In 2021 I inadvertently ended up in light snow after attending the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. I stopped overnight in Flagstaff on my way to the Grand Canyon. So it can happen.  RonB
edited more:  the 'snow' testing was invalidated because the tires weren't inflated to conform to the test requirements.... for what that is worth.

Thanks for your post, Rich.  Like many here, I also have that brand/ model tire but not sure if the recall applies so will need to check.

Just remembered I took a photo of my new tire in April last year, mine are Agilis Cross-Climate, but the LT version, not the C, so mine are not part of the recall.

Whew!

Just found my purchase paperwork and tire part number is 72022 which is not on the recall list.  So much for free, new tires.   :(

Just bought these exact tires last September.  Date code 1722, so game over....
Really like them, wonder how long I can run them before the recall ends?
