Catstrap RV Max Protect specialized for the E450 chassis - a review

Hi all,
Dave Birsen, co-owner of Catstrap recently reached out to me to see if I would do a video review/installation of the new Catstrap "RV Max Protect" which was designed for the E450 F53 chassis. He knows I have a YouTube channel and is surprisingly familiar with the Lazy Daze brand. In exchange for sending me a Catstrap, he hoped I would help spread the word about the device and how it installs on a Lazy Daze with the E450 chassis which the majority of us have.

As many of you know, catalytic converters from the Ford E450 chassis are a hot commodity among thieves. The reason is because the cat is so large and contains more precious metal.

Install was straightforward but an extra set of hands is extremely helpful especially if you are doing it on the ground like I was. The kit (without optional alarm) includes two 5ft Catstraps (for top and botton of the exhaust), stainless steel ties, and warning decals. I also purchased off Amazon four 3 1/2" exhaust clamps and four 4" stainless steel hose clamps to assist securing it.

Video link can be found below. I recorded it in 4k high definition but Youtube takes forever to process. Overall I think it will be a great deterrent for a would-be thief and I know some owners here have already installed one. Hopefully this helps out some owners who are still on the fence about purchasing one. It seems a replacement catalytic converter is around $2000+ these days and are often on backorder!

A video of my installation would show me writing a check. Well worth it, I know it's done right. ;)

Good suggestion and video.  We are leaving for two extended trips soon with boondocking and leaving the rig for day excursions.  I ordered the Catstrap.

Nice. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. I must admit, although I warn on the video, it does stink for a couple of days once the cat gets hot! It look me a minute to figure out the burning smell and then remembered...oh yea, the damn CatStrap!
