Now just a doggone minute, that MAY be true in your neck of the woods but us Groundhogs have different opinions! Yes, I know whereof I speak, because I am a Groundhog, born on this day 87 years ago. And that old wives' tale is a whole lot of hooey in my opinion!

This day is also known as 'Candlemas Day' and always falls 40 days after Christmas, February 2nd.

If Candlemas Day is fair and bright,
Winter will make another fight!
If Candlemas Day brings storm and rain,
Winter is gone and will not come again!

Hi Steve, thanks for mentioning that. And Happy Birthday today to you!  I have a friend who lives nearby, and it is her birthday celebration today also.
