Hard way to fix a Rear Window Leak
Well after fixing the Dry Rot  on the entire rear of my TK, the window had a leak.  After it rained I could find water on the inside still and it took some time to track it down.  My 97 had a 3 peice rear window and after many years out in the elements the sealant on the vertical section was cracked.  Right as I was about to try some black 5200 I backed into a tree.  So I upgraded and it feels good to have it back together.  Being close to Vancover I ordered from motionwindows.com/ and picked it up.  Ordered  a 84 5/8 x 25 7/8 Series 1800 window that is much thicker than the factory and the same quality tint.

I think I will try to avoid your upgrade methodology.
Tint looks like it matches well.
Is it Limo tint?  Applied after the window was made?  Or???

Hi Craig; I also will avoid having to change out that window, but...That is a great job. It looks better than factory new!  So I would do the same as you.  My concern would be in extremely hot weather (Arizona in the summer?) Is there enough room for it to expand? and are there gaps on the end in really cold weather. The factory usually has a reason for doing things. My first thought is that they had some reason to do the three piece the way they did.
Care to share the cost?  It may make the rest of us more careful.  I've backed into a tree and missed the window low by an inch. And I got hit by something about two inches high, that put a dent in the aluminum. So close!  But no cigar....yet.  RonB

Cost, you can get a quote...   ;)  but I was happy it was under 1k with the tint and dual pane which is an upgrade frm my single pane original
motionwindows series-1800

The Mothership switched to dual pane windows and I can just hope these don't fog as easily but the facility is close to me.  I thought about ordering the 1600 single pane which would have been more of a like for like replacement and cheaper.  I still have room around the window frame for expansion as I installed it in winter. I thought about trying to go through Example of Hehr Part Number - RV Windows but I could not quite read the original window code from the water damage I had already fixed.

The one-piece window replacement is better looking than the three-piece window used by LD and should not suffer from the leaks that occur as the window leaks.
The three-piece Factory windows eventually leak around the side pieces as the rubber gaskets dry and shrink. Leaking windows can be sealed once with silicone window sealant, the only silicone sealant I would use on the coach.

What color glass did you get? We will need three windows eventually.

Aerospace 303 is an excellent product to protect our window seals from drying out. I even use it on the windshield gasket.

Thanks Larry and JOR, I almost used the wrong stuff on the seal, had the 5200 in my hand and wanted to do some more research.  Only took me a week till I broke it and didn't have to research it any more.
We got the dark grey and it is very close to the factory tint.  I am looking forward to replacing the other 2 side windows as the Hehr screen clips are not available and when the side windows were removed previously for a new refrigerator install larger screws were used and the tracks were damaged.  Now I need new reflectix  cutouts as the new window is slightly larger.
