Comments on LD
We just finished a 4,000 mile trip so I got a chance to really get to know the LD. I mentioned before that we're used to class As so I was looking forward to comparing them with the LD on a long trip. In no particular order, here are my observations.

Driving: Handles very well and does not wander. Little affected by passing trucks.  For me, this OEM suspension is just fine.

Uphill: Towing 3500# Subaru: A pleasant surprise. A lot less torque for pulling those long grades but we just fell in behind the big guys and enjoyed the scenery.

Braking: I was worried about this as I am used to a retarder or Jake. Happy to report that I love that Tow-Haul button. Works great.

Dumping: Used to a single sewer pipe but but the two-pipe setup isn't much trouble.

Dry Camping: Used to much larger tanks and batteries. We learned to be more careful with water usage and the two solar panels did a good job of keeping up with our electrical needs.

Roof: This has got to be the craziest roof build around. How LD could continue with the absurd Lake Newton is beyond me. However, when the lake emptied itself as I opened the driver's door, I had to laugh!

Storage: Enough outdoor storage once I got used to the compartment height. Had to buy a shorter tool box and I have to remove the top of the grill to fit it in. Used to it now though. I wish, however, LD had figured a way to continue to mount the spare in the back!

Toilet: Now that is something that takes some getting used to. One learns to hoist oneself!

Shower: Nice and roomy. Replaced the OEM head with a Oxygenics.

120v Receptacles: Weird placement. I'll probably put in some more down the road sometime.

MPG: I posted awhile back that I looked forward to 10 mpg. Someone on the forum gave a hearty laugh! We did a lot of mountain driving with several very long steep upgrades. The best I got was 8.5; the worst, 5.6. After that I quit measuring. Also, paying between 5 and 6 per gallon, I quit keeping the receipts. Ignorance is bliss. One thing I actually enjoyed was the more frequent fuel stops and the ease of getting into just about any gas station.

Tank and Power Gauges: These are pretty useless. I think I'll put in a Trimetric and a SeeLevel.

Anyhow, I really like the LD. Good to go!

Good to hear. I am still wondering why some install sway bars and such to prevent swaying.

I put black tape over the black and gray idiot lights. Pretty hard to fill the gray tank with one tank of fresh water. I would say impossible to fill the black tank. Just dump every 4/5 days.
