RV cover failure

In March of 2021 I parked Harvey and covered him with a brand new RV cover: KING BIRD Upgraded Class C RV... Amazon.com: KING BIRD Upgraded Class C RV Cover, Extra-Thick 5 Layers...

We were out of the country so he’s been sitting there this whole time. Yesterday I was finally able to check on him. The pictures show how it held up.  I think it helped, but it’s pretty tattered now. This is close to Reno, so lots of sun and wind.

The cover has a 24 month warranty. I will report back with their response, but I’m pretty disappointed that it didn’t last.

Unfortunately, that's par for the course in the southwest.  Amazon reviews are littered with 'the wind tore up my almost new cover' for just about every brand I've seen.

I hope you get a positive response on the warranty.

You might try a Calmark cover next time:

if the wind is blowing hard enough to tear the cover, think about what the wind moving the cover next to the rv is doing to your paint.  Better if stored outdoors to use a lot of wax.  Car (and RV) covers are best for indoor or wind sheltered locations.

Here in TX, it's well worth a little extra to pay for covered parking that offers electricity.  With our 104 degree sun and major hail storms that type of cover would only be better than nothing at all.  That's what I'd do if I could find a reasonable covered spot and save myself money on a semi-useless cover.

You look like you are already at a storage facility.

I kept my MB covered for its whole life with Adco covers which usually lasted 2.5-3 years. Went with a King Bird once since it was cheaper-BIG MISTAKE, the darned thing ripped just trying to put it on. I’m glad I did use a cover for the 12 years I owned a LD. I feel like it really protects not just the paint but the roof and end cap seams, windows, tires, and all the plastic and rubber components on the roof like vent covers and wires/cables from the damage UV radiation can wreak.

I was going to say it looks like an Adco Cover.   I got about the same just about 3 years here in Southern CA with Adco covers.
For some of these they want to know what region of US you live it and suggest that material.

For my truck Camper,  I am trying Goldline Cover by Eevelle which is a totally different material.  A friend uses these.   My issue is I bought too small and outside of my return window.  Truck Campers are a little harder to gauge on size , at least with this company.

Curious what Kingbird says.
