Pantry in RB?
So I did a search on adding a pantry & got great results for the TK & MB.  Has anyone added a Pantry to the outside of the wardrobe door in the RB? I’m thinking about ditching the mirror & putting in a pantry on the top 1/2 of the door. I’m concerned about the extra weight on the wardrobe door. Thoughts?

On a TK, it’s not on an existing door, but in a shallow alcove, which is what I did in July, so the frame weight, shelves and actual contents are supported by the Lazy Daze studs.

Can’t see doing that on wardrobe door, as that would put considerable stress on the wardrobe hinges.   Maybe you could upgrade the hinges?

Maybe a photo of places you are thinking about, as I don’t have a good feel for a RB.

One thing you might want to consider is the extra stress the additional outer weight would make on the plastic closet door latch. They can break. It would be good to see if you could get an extra one(s) from Todd @ LD while you can anyway.  There are five substantial door hinges spaced evenly on the closet door and the extra outer weight would be greater on the upper hinges. If you do add the pantry it would be best placed on the upper 1/2 to 2/3 area of the door to help spread out the stress on all the hinges. I just got an extra plastic pantry door latch from Todd recently as it had already broken. I already have extra closet door latches left over from when I had the 2010 RB, "Monty."

Dave,
I found a three shelf wire thing like this and put it inside the Mr. and Mrs. Wardrobe as a panty.
It was only a standard can wide. lost about 4 hanger spaces inside.

Then I added a heavy Yardstick across the front of the bottom of the Wardrobe to keep things from pushing the wardrobe doors open.

Ah, attaching a bit of wire shelving to the wardrobe door is possible, more of an organizer for an existing space rather than a new pantry space.

As Mike mentioned, the latches and hinges on the wardrobe might have issues with the extra weight, so you’d need to limit what you store there.

I would not do that. On our 97RB, we have replaced the top and bottom hinges. We hang a few clothes on the back side, and that mirror is not light.  I would suggest you use the flat surface above the drawers behind the door.

Or substitute a piano hinge for the relatively weak hinges that LD used.

Hanging too much weight on a door that isn't designed to carry the weight, after pounding  down rough roads for a few thousand miles, will eventually cause the door to pull apart,
The stress of being bounced thousands of times a day wile driving down the road can destroy even apparently well-built structures.
