Dometic Fridge not working, Freezer is?
Dometic Model RM2662 from 2005 26.5LD - was working on shore power - now not but the freezer is icy- Thoughts?
We did a search but are not sure what it could be related too & didn’t see similar issues.
On a good note at least the ice cream won’t melt….

So the fridge is not cooling at all, or just not cold enough? If the latter, I would carefully check how the door mates up with the frame and the condition of the door seal. Note the temps of both the freezer and fridge with accurate thermometers.

"...or just not cold enough?..."

On the cooling fins inside the fridge box you will see the "thermistor", sort of a clip attached to a fin with a wire attached. It controls the temperature in the box. Sliding the clip upwards or downwards (I forget which way for cooler vs warmer, up or down) and see if that makes a change.   ::)

The thermistor feels the current temperature and compensates for it.  I remember up or down by heat rises, so if I want to tell the thermistor that it is too hot, I move it up into the hotter area of the fridge.

Also you may already know this, but just in case, the rv must be leveled (in my experience, at least leveled front to back) or else the fridge part won't get cooled.

I am not sure if this is applicable but my experience is that when you turn on the fridge, the freezer gets cold well before the refrigerator section. You may need to be patient and wait some time for the refrigerator area to cool off.

Cooler is up; warmer is down. Slide the termistor gently to the top or close to the top of the fin; be careful not to jerk loose any wires.

I kept the setting on “4”; YMMV.

We had a similar experience on our recent trip. Original 2003 fridge. So, I’m definitely interested in this thread. We were traveling in very hot weather.

Freezer was —3 deg F and fridge would be in the mid 40s. This was even after sitting overnight (so opening door was not the issue). We even had a battery-operated fridge fan running on the bottom shelf.

Fridge had been running constantly for about a week at that point. And the seals around the door are in perfect shape.

Moving that thermistor thing made no difference. Fridge was on setting 5, max cool. And this was the same regardless of power source. We ran with the genny running to keep the coach cool.

I just kept rotating freezer packs to keep the meat/cheese in crisper drawers OK. Nothing spoiled thankfully.

I wondered, if it’s the cooling unit failing, why would the freezer be that cold?

EDIT: I should add, there were also times that the fridge would drop down to 37F. I can’t think of any ambient temp/usage difference that would account for the random ability to cool.

Note that there is no separate way to set freezer temp. the freezer will continue to get colder the longer the fridge is running, trying to cool down the main compartment. Check for obstructions that would prevent good airflow at the back of the fridge.
