Dash Modification
I would like to improve upon the layout of the various gadgets (brake monitor, TST, Garmin, phone charging, etc.) that need to reside on or near the dash.  I found this video which seems to offer a possible solution. I was able to pull out the stock storage bin/ coin holder insert and found a connector on the back of the coin holder. The video does address power hookup but any advice from you electrical gurus would be appreciated as my electrical skills are very limited.  I’m wondering if I can get both positive and negative from the wires on that connector?

This is much much better than the OEM layout which is way out of date. Thanks for sharing

Greg-

The Ford Body Builder Layout Book (BBLB) has a number of pages on the E-series chassis wiring. The 2015 model year is the closest to your 2019. The BBLB, page 14 (link here) shows the trailer electric brake connector inside the dashboard.

If you buy the compatible harness (Tekonsha 3034-P, link here), you can plug it into the connector inside the dash. Positive 12V is on the yellow-red wire, and the ground is on the violet-black wire. That will eliminate having to do any splicing into the factory wiring- just use the connector = plug and play!

You may want to replace the 30A fuse in the 12V yellow-red with something lower, such as 10A or 15A. This should help protect the electronics. It shows as fuse #18 in the fuse box under the hood.
