Toad Braking April 28, 2022, 06:28:39 pm I have been using a Brake Buddy on the tow car for many years with no problems. Unfortunately, the air chamber has stopped holding pressure. Brake Buddy's advice was to send it to them and they would give me a repair estimate. My question is do you have another system to recommend other than Brake Buddy and why? Thank you for your help.Gale 2008 mid-bath

Portable units have the advantage of being easily movable to another vehicle.Larry 1 Likes
Re: Toad Braking Reply #2 – April 28, 2022, 07:32:03 pm I also have a Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO installed in my 96 Jeep Cherokee. It’s an expensive unit but I did the installation myself and saved some money. It doesn’t get in the way when driving the Jeep and I actually forget it’s even there. I really like that all I need to do is to hookup the Jeep and flip a switch for it to work. If you plan on keeping the toad, I’d seriously consider getting one.- John

The repair costs I've read from Brake Buddy have been quite reasonable. You might want to mention the type of toad, as it can make a difference sometimes.I use a brake buddy that I picked up on craigslist in a package deal with a tow-bar. It's not perfect, but it works for me (with a Honda Civic) as I wanted to limit the number of modifications to the toad itself (still needed the base plate, and lights, and brake-away switch of course).
