Coach A/C limited forward flow
Hello All,

Having an issue with airflow in our coach A/C, couldn’t find the answer by searching.

The coach A/C on our 2003 RB was replaced at the factory/mothership a few years ago (by the original owners). Replacement is a Dometic Penguin II 13.5k BTU, I believe.

It’s blowing cold air just fine (have it home from storage to do some maintenance this weekend). It’s in full-blazing-Florida sun in the driveway, mid-80s outside.

The issue is that, even if I close all the other outlets/vents, the output toward the front of the coach is weak. I’m thinking it would be really uncomfortable to sleep in the overhead bunk, but also the couch area is far warmer than the dinette area. The rear bath is frigid.

When I took the filter assembly down to clean a few weeks ago, I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Nor did the forward output get any worse after putting it back together — so it’s not something I did. This time.

I have the floor-facing outlets closed (the ones with the sliding open-closed switch).

Is this normal, or am I missing something?

Have others noticed this, or is this something I need to investigate by taking down the shroud?

Thank you,
Jason
