Fuel Costs - Not So Painful
1.  Our first $200 fill up in Florida, which will get us about 425 miles down the road. (Actually $205).  Painful?  Let’s see.

2.  Rationalization #1.  Still much better than a couple of nights in a hotel.  And our meals from our LD Truck Grub is so much better.

3.  Rationalization #2.   The high cost of fuel is a small price to pay for our RV Adventures.  That’s because these trips help us to feel terrific in so many ways.

So probably not overly painful.  And that’s our humble opinion on this matter.

I completely agree. I have actually planned more trips with longer stays. With the discovery of COE campgrounds, the cost of stays have been significantly reduced while staying in Beautuful setting Add the benefit if an America the Beautiful Life Time Senior Pass and it is almost like camping for free. Two weeks at Ives Run COE in Pa only $130 total.

Life is good.

My Lazy Daze gets about 8 mpg. My Super Sherpa motorcycle, gets about 65.
I use the motorcycle for almost all things once I get situated in a spot.
Groceries, laundry, and any other errand except filling my 10 gallon propane bottle.
That is a little unwieldy to try and strap on the back of the bike.
Doing this, saves me a lot of money
The best thing I can do to save on fuel is stay put.
I will need to move next month to make my migration north to the Flagstaff area.
Glad it's under 400 miles, probably won't make it up to Utah this summer unless prices come down considerably.

I was/am willing to pay $6.00 to get back on the road.    Been setting at home for two years.   Time to air out and see the country again.......
btw I once paied $7.00 a gallon in a nameless National Park becasue I was not very bright at the time.   Have learn my lesson (I think) to at least try to plan ahead.

If you want to travel, you have to pay the price.
Many use one of the gas price tracking apps like Gas Buddy.
https://www.gasbuddy.com

We have a long trip coming up, as much as I hate to pay the cost, I don't seem to be getting younger so waiting for lower gas prices isn't in the plans. The good news is much of the cost of camping has already been paid for.
We can only hope the high cost of gas will keep some folks at home...fat chance.

I agree. Gas Buddy is a fine app for locating lower gas prices and Costco Gasoline Stations on the road.

The app is best used prior to hitting the road. Once on the road, the app often shows a usable gas station miles behind you rather than directly ahead. I have seldom back tracked to get fuel and as always travel on the top 1/2 of the tank. Recent gas prices make forethought critical.

I’ll be taking my daughter to the Grand Canyon in April. Knowing this trip ahead of current gas prices allowed me to fill up propane and gasoline before prices increased.

Knowing the cost of gas in Williams, Az can be a bit pricey, I’ve located the best gas at the lowest cost in that area. Figure I’ll have two 1/2 tank fill ups for the trip out/back.

Good to plan ahead.

Thanks for the link.
Looking at it, our two local Costco's prices are not shown. I have not checked for more distant Costco prices.

Using the Costco app, you can get fuel prices by looking at warehouses.
If it doesn't show, they don't have a fuel station. Pretty up to date info as well.
I also look at warehouse info to see if they also sell propane.
