FordPass app problem
My Ford app is no longer connecting and updating the vehicle.
I've reinstalled but still not happening.

Anyone else have this problem?
Solution?

Hi Ted;  Well as my LD just turned 22 years old, I have no experience with updating Apps, at least for a car.  I think re-installing that would reset all sorts of things, so too late to not do that.  I assume you are in the San Diego area, and the vehicle uses a cell phone connection?  Or does it go through your local WiFi home network?    How do you know it isn't updating; does it do that daily, weekly, monthly?   Does it show on your dash that it needs an update?  Does it connect through Bluetooth with your phone?      I'll bet the owners manual and or internet would have more answers for you.     RonB

I have had the exact problem with my Ford F-150. Call the Ford app directly at (800) 392-3673. They should be able to help you out.

I Hope Ford can fix the issue. Lets us know the results

They did call back to tell me that the app is down for my vehicle and to try back in a week or so.

Their customer service help for this app wasn't very knowledgeable. One was surprised I could see anything at all because mine "didn't have a modem". Another didn't say that.

Weird.

If it is anything like our 2020 Jeep Wrangler, the apps are not that useful and can be annoying at times. I have done my best to rid the Jeep of as much electronic eavesdropping as possible.

Wait six months or a year and then the bills will start coming, first wanting you to 'update', for $100, a nearly worthless GPS, and then another bill for the safety monitor that doesn't work when away from cell signals.
Finally, Sirius/XM wants to be paid. It can potentially cost several hundred dollars a year to keep the apps running.
It's amazing our older vehicles can run at all without the extras...and they do fine.
The apps and all the electronic subscriptions are just another profit center for the auto industry.

Getting into our 2003 LD is such a pleasure, nothing but the basics and the only thing it begs for is more fuel.
