Bumper and grille refresh
Our 2003 MB is looking really nice these days but I would love to figure out how to restore the colors to the front bumper and grille. The bumper has turned gray and the grille has weathered significantly. Any ideas short of replacement that would still look good in a few years? We store it covered now, so hoping that will help. Thanks!

You need Dupli-Color Trim & Bumper paint. These photos show my 2003 midbath's bumper before and after. (I used black paint, but charcoal is also available and is probably closer to the original color.)

As for your grille, I'd brush on some black paint. Heck, spray some of the bumper paint into a cup and use that with a small paintbrush. (Wear gloves when spraying into a cup; the mist bounces back on your hands.)

Perfect! Thanks for digging up some old Skylark (before, during and after) photos Andy, I'll add some Dupli Color to my shopping list.

For the record, I didn't actually paint half of the bumper at a time! The 50/50 image is a composite of before and after shots, intended to show the difference.

By the way, I added a note to my post about using the Dupli-Color paint for the grille as well. The paint is available in most auto parts stores, or on Amazon.
