Re: Hairline cracks-rear corners Reply #25 – October 01, 2021, 12:15:37 pm Hi!Got the Captain Tolley's and applied it. We waited about a week or so, then yesterday applied the 3M product VViVid. Here's hoping it works! Thanks for all of your suggestions and feedback. Apparently we are not the only ones with this cracking problem. We did have a very severe winter last year which may have been a factor.Still mulling over the "permanent" fix of replacing the piece. I think that would be best done at the mothership which is not in the cards right now. But is not off the table either. We will see how things go and see what gas prices do too.Happy FALL to you all! Re: Hairline cracks-rear corners Reply #26 – October 01, 2021, 01:34:49 pm Hi Corky, June 2018 our 2015 RB had its left rear end cap develop a hair line crack after returning home from Zion NP the previous week.Being so new, we decided to have the Mothership replace the end cap. The cost at the time was $350. This included the cost of replacing the item and repainting. The price was very reasonable for the work done. I’m not certain if any discount was given, but regardless, the work was flawless. I had Captain Tolley’s on hand at the time. The bottle is still unopened in a drawer in the rig. Maybe next time. 🤞Kent
Re: Hairline cracks-rear corners Reply #27 – October 01, 2021, 02:26:28 pm Captain Tolleys isn’t appropriate for end caps, the caps move too much and Captain Tolleys isn’t very flexible. Replacing the the cap is expensive and odds are it will crack again. The clear tape will provide the needed protection.Larry 1 Likes
