Mirror Replacement
Hi all!
I need to replace the passenger side (R) Velvac mirror.  Has anyone needed to do likewise recently?  There seems to be a very wide price difference between Velvac side mirrors available through Mill Supply and Amazon.  Am I possibly looking at different/wrong models or part numbers.

Can anyone here clarify the proper part/model number for a right side Velvac mirror?  (When originally installed the right and left sides had to be reversed to be work properly!!)

Thanksabunch,
Lorna

Lorna, the Velvacs on my 2003 are from Mill Supply; SKU for the  right side mirror is 714580; for the left side , 714579.

Thank you Joan, but I'm not finding it either filtered by SKU or by Ford.  My current mirrors were installed in 2003 as well -- times they are a changing'!  I'll try calling Mill Supply.

Just called Mill Supply..."not in stock, back ordered, no ETA."  Bummer.

Strange; I just checked the Mill Supply site and the 2020 black mirrors show as priced at $99.00 and shipping in 7-14 days from the warehouse. Can’t say….?

Lorna, what part do you need? I have some mirror heads and a passenger side complete arm assembly that I am looking to give away for the cost of the shipping. The mirror heads are the deluxe ones that have the complete wide angle section on the bottom of the mirror.

The reason I have them is that my driver's side mirror arm fell apart so I upgraded to the XG mirrors that LD was installing. I couldn't bring myself to throw the old parts away. We both have 2003 rigs so I know the mirror arm will fit your rig. It won't fit earlier models.

You could "upgrade" to the newer style XG arms and mirrors as an alternative.

The description of Steve K’s mirrors sounds like the 2020s.  ;)

Steve and Joan, yes those Velvacs are 2020's, but I was searching by SKU.  Steve, patience is not one of my virtues...I found the mirror you so generously offered; and it is now on order from Grainger, due to arrive 9/10.  It wasn't cheap and certainly won't have the Steve K. spirit!   Thank you so much for your kind offer.  You better save it for when you swerve to miss a pedestrian on a dark street and hit a no parking sign.  You know -- just in case!!!

Joan, having the SKU helped expedite my search...many thank yous coming your way.

Lorna, I am just glad you found what you need. Heck, I was going to deliver them in person so we could finally meet!🤣 I would let you take my picture for that "Men of Lazy Daze" Callender you were putting together.

That Lazy Daze Class of 2003 was a special one, wasn't it? Seems like yesterday but my rig doesn't look like it did then; neither do I!

Well phooey Steve, if you had offered a face to face,  coulda cancelled that order with no remorse!!!  Mine has 180068 miles on her and is presently in the shop getting her *third* alternator -- that's three alternators in 18 years.  They just don't build 'em like they use-ta!

But wait!  Did you say "Men of Lazy Daze" calendar?  I just might travel to Ohio just to put you on the cover and damn the mirror!  Then how 'bout it Larry and Chris and  Lazy Bones and Andy?  I can see it now - what a great fundraiser for our forum hosts!!

I have three used standard, flat glass Velvac mirrors from our vintage LDs, I can find no parts numbers on them and all three appear to be symmetrical and look the same as our mirrors, not sure if there is a difference between the right and left.
The deluxe mirrors do have a right and left side.
Send me a PM if interested.

Perhaps a photographer amongst us could take the photos at the Morro Bay GTG…. And, if someone were to pursue it, why not be inclusive and make the calendar on a Rig basis, featuring the owner(s), and their wonderful Lazy Daze motorhomes…?

Just a thought.

It's a wonderful thought, what camera are you planning to use?

I’m not a particularly gifted photographer, Larry.  Although, I would be happy to help organize a “Shoot”.

Bill B, John D, Art B, Might you be planning to join us in Morro Bay next Spring?  We need your photographic expertise…
