The factory installed TPMS
On my previous aftermarket tire pressure monitoring system it took about 20 minutes to register and you needed to move to activate it.

On the new Ford systems can I just turn the key in the morning to get a reading? Without rolling and is it instant?

Hi Ted, you'll have to tell us.   On two of my cars, it takes about 15-20 seconds for all 5 tires to show up on the display.  RonB

All tpms have a receiver and the tire transmitters. In order to preserve the transmitter batteries as long as possible, the sensors are designed to increase reporting intervals in the absence of motion. Your receiver is always 'on', so it will report the last sensor reading for each tire - even if an hour or more old. Once you start driving, they will update more frequently. The aftermarket receivers are typically turned off when not in use, and so must wait to get  reading until the sensors report in.

What I'll do is compare the pressures when I park it just after driving a while to the readings I get when in the morning when I turn the key.
