Life's Transitions - Downsizing
In the next few days, I will be listing my 2002 30' IB for sale. Now that I'm a solo traveler, the 30' Lazy Daze is just more space than I need. I have ordered a 13' Scamp Deluxe front bathroom trailer whose build will not start until a year from now. Before then, I most likely will upgrade to the 16' after I visit the Minnesota factory next Sept. as I desire a little more space and a few more amenities. Since I can cancel or change the order without $ penalty anytime before the build starts, I am checking for something used. As you can imagine, they are rare and overpriced.

After 19 years of Lazy Dazing, it will seem strange to join the Lazy Daze alumni group. However, I intend to continue hanging around here with the fellowship of Lazy Dazers (FOLD). 🙂

Best wishes on your move to a smaller rig, Chris. It makes sense, as you say. I recently did the same: moved from my 27' Airstream to a 19-footer, because the big Airstream was more than I needed, and driving a pickup didn't suit me. (Now I tow with a Subaru Ascent SUV, which is much more enjoyable to drive.)

Whoever buys your 30-footer will be getting a gem! How many toothbrushes did you wear out while detailing it? ;-)

I certainly hope you'll stay on in your moderator position. You've been doing a great job, and your efforts are much appreciated.

I am sorry that you are moving on from your beloved Lazy Daze but I am sure you will enjoy whatever endeavors you pursue.

Chris,

Your guidance and friendship has been welcome in the past as well as in the future. Many LD alumni have made their move in other directions.

As in education, the “F” word stands true with RV/outdoor enthusiasts-“Flexibility” Bend with the breeze and guide those who follow.

Thanks,

Hi Chris; I'm still shaken by the loss of Ken Fears, and then your wife!  I'd like to express my condolences to you.     I can understand the transition to a smaller platform. There have been some nice 24' LD's on the market recently.  Maybe you can rethink this during your wait for a trailer.
Whichever way you go, I hope you will consider staying as our penultimate moderator. As with Andy, you have both been great role models for how to comport ourselves as members of this online community.  Ron and Trudy.

Chris-

In whatever vessel you choose, I hope our paths will cross in the future. Thanks for guiding so many in their Lazy Daze experience.

Congratulations on your decision and next life chapter, Chris!

We have Jackson Hole friends that have “Wintered” in their 13’ Scamp for many years.  They tow it with a Subaru and have been very happy with the make.  I’m sure that you will have many happy years in your new coach.

Best wishes,

When you get your trailer, come visit Morro Bay in March again. LD Alumni members are always welcome.
