The 7.3 V8
I must correct the record.
Earlier I posted that I thought my 460 cu in 1995TK felt more powerful.

After towing the Honda CR-V about 900 miles I was wrong.

I am loving the power this has.

Might have something to do with the responsiveness, sound and other things. The V10 quietly and smoothly gets the job done.

I have to agree about the V10. When I first read your post I couldn’t remember what year your LD was and thought your LD had the new V8.
I’m full timing now and mostly view the forum from a cell phone. That view does not include signature lines.  I apologize for the mistake.

I replied from my phone and made the mistake, I thought he had a V10. Either way, I think the V10 or the new V8 would outperform the 1995.

Ford has done a decent job of making V-8 gas engines that last a long time.
My 96 has the 7.5 liter (460). It was the last year they used that engine, but it was around a long time.
The V-10 had been around a long time now too, with good results.
Now the new 7.3 is out. I think Ford will once again do well with the new engine.
Time will tell.
To me, the more important new tech is in transmissions.
The ones they have come up with in recent years are amazing, at least compared to the E4OD in my 96.

I always wished that my 95 had more gears and now I have more.
This 6 speed is amazingly smooth and the tow/haul mode saves having to "grab a gear".

While the 6 speed is way better than my old E4OD, it isn't the latest from Ford. They have 10 speed autos now used in trucks.
Too bad it isn't available in the van.

The six-speed transmission was the very reason I was targeting a 2016 or newer model, and the Tow/Haul mode is a literal lifesaver for our mountain roads!
