Having no knowledge of the OPs skill set or desire, my point was just that the worst case is small compared to the cost of the coach purchase. As we often say, RVing is not a cheap way to travel, although having some ability to do things yourself can lessen the blow. A 2017 is probably a candidate for tires soon, and $500 isn’t going to take care of that. Rich
Re: noisy converter Reply #26 – May 12, 2021, 02:48:16 pm Well....The fan is probably two. The manufacturer wouldn't put them in unless they needed to be there. With todays coaches, low power LED lighting, not too many electric power hungry doo-dads, they don't need fan cooling unless you are charging batteries. Most every other high current need is supplied by 110vAC electricity. I find the sound level minimal. The 55Amp supplies have the thermostat present to only turn on the fan if needed. Anyone with a 75 Amp, the manufacturer probably figured that you would need it to charge a large bank of batteries, 6 or more, etc. Run the fan, get used to it, add the thermostat, or just cut the wire running the fan. Or you could replace the converter yourself, like a PD4655, very easy. Four wires right Greg? RonB
Re: noisy converter Reply #27 – May 12, 2021, 07:11:51 pm Yep, four wires and a RJ-45(?) connector (for the temperature control, I believe). I swapped back to the factory spec 55 amp Parallax though, not the PD. If I ever upgrade the system, I may change out the converter for a higher amperage PD but I'm good for now.
