Wildfire alert mobile app
Good morning,
Thought I would reach out and ask the LD community about wildfire alert mobile apps.
Living in Kansas, typically we get a sense of fire location from the smell and directions of the wind (Flint hills, Nebraska, Colorado extra). Typically tune in to the news and see what is going on.
Traveling to Colorado this summer for a week or so and wanted to have a reliable mobile app for wildfires.
Growing up in Colorado and Washington state and I know how disorientating the haze and smell of wildfires can be.
I downloaded the FEMA app on my phone and was curious if anyone has a different preference. The FEMA app seems to allow for a search for storm shelters which should be a great resource here in "tornado alley".
Thank you for the insight, Kimberley

I don't know of any reliable wildfire app, but I will be interested in what others have to say on this. I use the Inciweb and CalFire sites, and/or the wildfire reporting sites from the state or agency where I'm traveling, e.g., WA, OR.
