Fuses Confusion March 20, 2021, 09:19:28 pm What kind of blade fuses are being used in my Lazy Daze?I do have "regular" blade fuses, which apparently are correctly being called ATO fuses or ATC fuses (and these two kinds seem to be interchangeable). I bought about a gazillion of regular blade fuses for about $10 when I replaced the converter. I probably could also have bought less fuses for more money - but who knows how many thousands of other Lazy Daze owners who need such a fuse I will meet on the road in the next 100 years?Later I found out that I can't use the fuses I have for my truck - the Ford wants to have "mini" fuses. Are all Ford E-450 fuses regular "mini" fuses, or are some of them maybe "low profile" mini fuses? I want to buy another gazillion of fuses for the Ford - but I would prefer to get a set that covers all potentially needed blade fuses in my rig. Or are there fuses sets available that not only cover the different blade fuses but also other fuses that I might need one day?Non-confusing fuses tips would be appreciated!Klaus

Re: Fuses Confusion Reply #2 – March 21, 2021, 02:44:38 pm There are also larger fuses--several sizes, as I recall--in a separate fusebox under the hood. They are less likely to blow than the ones you're talking about, but it wouldn't hurt to have spares on hand. As Don said, buy an assortment.

Yes, they cost a few bucks but if one blows while you are in the middle of nowhere, the costs become irrelevant.You will find LD's coach fuses in a variety of places, under the hood, under the dash, in the battery box, in the Power Center, and don't forget the hidden circuit breaker. The Fantastic Fans have their own glass fuses. The refrigerator's control board has two fuses.The chassis fuses are located under the dash and in the power distribution box under the hood. Their location, sizes, and function should be found in the Ford Owner's Manual.Larry

I don't know if there's a need for 40A fuses in the LD, but I'm sure that someone does know and will say so one way or the other! They are being used in the coach power center.The Ford fuses (in the driver footwell) are "mini" blade fuses, and I have ordered some in the meantime.Besides that I also have a box with all kinds of bulbs and fuses in one of my storage compartments which I got together with the Lazy Daze. Laurie, the previous owner, kept the rig well prepared for all kinds of things. I'm still happy and grateful that I could buy the RV from her. With all the fuses that I have now I am hopefully also prepared for many things - it's probably not really possible to be prepared for everything.Klaus
