"Stretching the frame is a complicated task,..."

And at the end of a work day or after a lunch break things can get overlooked. On my '04 30'IB, while having the 1st alignment at Henderson's Line Up, it was found that the rear 'U' bolts had not been torqued to spec., requiring a complete rear alignment  prior to doing the front.   :o

Yes, that’s Dale from Downey’s unit.

Beware of cl and rv trader 2009 23.5 front dinette, 60k miles, firm price of $55k in California.
I ask why he was firm on his price and show him the LD price guide....he went into this long email about how people were paying high prices because it was a hot market, he was happy to make such a good profit....he says he has maint records but would not send the details...he has owned it 3 or 4 years. Never garaged. Lots of road rash on lower Paint area....would not give
age of tires....lots of red flags....
Additional coments:
When an  rv reaches 10 years or more you have to consider the roof needing to be resealed..LD estimated 4k plus (includes replacing roof components with plastic covers) seals and edge covers needing to be resealed. Or reseal components, edges only for alot less... The engine coolant system needs new radiator hoses, heater hoses, coolant reservoir, etc. If not you are sitting on a breakdown or engine replacement from overheating.  The brake system if it hasn't been flushed every 2 years (moisture/condensation) in reservoir/lines, calipers, etc fluid which causes corrosion.  Brakes lines start restricting fluid....my last had 3 brake flushes in 14 years but I had to replace pads, calipers, hubs, lines due to seizing calipers and brake lines. I look at the undercarriage because some folks travel on snow/salted roads...suspension parts, exhaust, mounting bolts, hitch etc can have rust building and it doesn't stop till you remove it and treat/ paint, repair...
This is just a few thing of many that you need to take into consideration.....Every system on the coach will need maint or repair by the next owner at some point . Just because the first or present owner hasn't. Because the first 40 to 70k miles on LD is typical not to have many issues. I spent 8k my first year on a 2004 garage kept, no rust unit with 60k miles with lots of preventive maint. Don't forget the spark plug issues. The older models..they recomend removing..replacing them at 8 year before they seize up....so when someone  is asking 20k over what an rv should cost I walk away...LD 's are nice to own but don't be stupid and in denial about what it can cost to own one.

IMO He's asking $55K, and he will probably get it (or close to it) in this market if the unit is properly represented.

Depending.......On

Online Photographs.  IMO online photos can be good, or bad. And we have found both to be true.

When we were in the market for our LD, we looked at every RV forum we could find online, phone calls, etc.  Traveled twice to southern California and came home disappointed.

We looked at lot's of great LD photo's for sale online and were in love - that is until we made the actual in person inspection.

And twice I brought a cashier's check for units that I was certain were "the one" for us.  Nada!

There is NO substitute for your eyes, ears, and smell to ascertain if this is "the one" for you.  Even if you are inexperienced your senses usually announce if it looks, feels, tastes good.  Trust these senses.  Be prepared to walk immediately if you determine that anything is misrepresented.

And proceed from there.  Are the photo's and spec sheets properly represented?

Sure, you will expend $ for the trip, and valuable time.  Certainly and positively you will have an experienced (hopefully LD experienced) RV inspection completed before you shell out those hard dollars

And I try to consider that many, or most sellers are good folks, just not sales persons.  There will be immense suspension from both parties.  It's not right or wrong, it's just the human experience.

We have found LD owners to be truly unique in this world of RVing.   I don't know why, but know it is true.  And unique in the best of terms.

So, continue your search and be hopeful.  You WILL find the LD of your dreams for a price you can afford to start your LD adventure.

We spent more than we planned, and have never looked back.  After all, how many more years do we have left to experience this Grand Adventure!

Most respectfully,

Tony R (aka codefour)

Yeah, I've been watching this one for awhile.  Something feels very wrong about this person.  His photos are cropped as if to hide something.  I asked him to send me some others but they didn't tell the whole story.  Red flags for me.

I have my 2019 24’ front dinette in the classified here and it is only 14 months old.  Like new.  Going to be advertising it on RVtrader.  I am surprised I have not sold it yet as it is a good deal for someone looking for that model.  Just comparing to this one being sold.

Hi Angie. I'm sorry to hear that you are selling your coach.  As for it not being sold yet, a reminder that many of the members here already have motorhomes. Many looking for LD's aren't ready to part with the $$$ for an almost new one. Some people who are willing to spend that much are sort of waiting to see how the Virus situation shakes out, and many who are on the list are counting on some buffer time, to see how the economy and Virus situation proceed before they commit.  I do know of a few people who have stepped in to buy almost new units at good prices. The 'grapevine' can be pretty slow at times.
In addition, selling the 'not as popular 24 foot', either FD or TK, again restricts the number of potential buyers. By far the majority sold are the 27 foot models (MB and RK). 24' floorplans about equal to 31' in number. Guesses on my part because LD doesn't release those numbers that I know of.   Also sales in 'northern East' locations are slower this time of year than sales in warmer parts. Fewer people have ever heard of Lazy Daze at all, even in San Diego. After the loss of Born Free, I'm not sure if there even are small independents left.  Nexus?   Jayco was bought out years ago.  I hope you connect with a real buyer soon, to your mutual benefit.   RonB

Angie, I mostly agree with Ron but I don’t think you’ll have a problem selling a shorter unit since short seems to be in right now, especially with the younger crowds.  I normally don’t like to comment on member’s sale pricing but I will say that I think yours is very fairly priced and I would not lower it unless you’re really motivated to get rid of it quickly. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your comments.  It has become the trend of people downsizing when they think of purchasing a RV.  I think the size is great for two people and when we went on trips never thought I wished I had a larger one. I think the price is fair especially with all the options.

Here are the base prices for the 2021 models on the new Ford Chassis:
All 24' floor plans: $106,750  w/$3500 deposit.
All 27' floor Plans: $112,250  w/$4000 deposit
All 31' floorplans: $ 123,500  w/$4500 deposit

Attached is the pricing for the standard options. I had four additions for extra $$.

I looked on the LD site and as of 8-20 these are the prices for 2021
http://www.lazydaze.com/FEATURES.PDF
The price for each floor plan is 12,000 higher than than prices posted on their site as of 2-19 for 2019

The big jump is Ford’s increase in their cost of chassis.

The 2022 pricing should be out in the next 2 to 3 months. I anticipate the jump will be quite a bit less than the one from 2019 to 2021.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in the 26.5 Island Bed the seat next to the entry will extend in front of the door to make it more of a loveseat.  A kind person in the Lazy Daze Caravan Club let me take a tour of theirs.  Pretty cool layout!

It does; no in or out when the seat is in front of the entry door, but the layout is handy for four people for dinner!  ;)
