23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) December 24, 2020, 09:24:57 am While searching for my next Lazy Daze i have questions. I have searched for pictures of both of the wardrobes in a 23.5 and 24 ft LD frt dinette. ...with the doors open and I have not found any. If anyone has pictures and can post them I would greatly appreciate it. Please note the year and which wardrobe it is. I rembered driving to a south Georgia town 4 years ago and looked at one that was already sold. I can't remember the closets? Also if you have a frt Dinette tell me what you like and don't like. Has anyone had issues with the window in the shower (always a bad idea to have a window in a shower, imo.)Thanks for your help. One added request....are their drawers in the wardrobe. I my last LD MB....the drawers are only below the wardrobe. Not sure about the shorter LD models.

I believe the wardrobes are similar, though with some year dependence. Both our '83 and '04 FL's had a similar closet arrangement - one in the bath and one next to the fridge. The '12 FD model was similar, though I did not look inside the closet, but no guarantees a '21 FD would be the same.Steve
Re: 23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) Reply #2 – December 24, 2020, 11:03:02 am "Has anyone had issues with the window in the shower (always a bad idea to have a window in a shower, imo"----I have a TK with a window in the shower; as long as the window channel is protected from water entry, having a window in the shower works well to allow additional ventilation to dry towels and whatnot more quickly and prevent moisture buildup. My rig came with a stiff vinyl window curtain and shower curtain (like all of that vintage); I replaced those early on with a much lighter weight vinyl curtain for the window (made from an old shower curtain and hung from stick-on 3M hooks above the window frame) and a polyester shower curtain (cut to fit and replaced a couple of times); both have worked well. The window panes in the shower are also covered with an opaque film; IIRC, this came from Home Depot, but I'm sure that the film is available from many sources. The curtain for the shower window completely covers the window channel and frame with about a 3" extra drop; this prevents any water from getting into the window channel.YMMV, but having a window in the shower has worked very well for me. 2 Likes
Re: 23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) Reply #3 – December 24, 2020, 11:20:05 am I am currently traveling in a 2017 Casita and found these rod clips(on amazon ) to make a wrap around shower curtain. I'm sure they will work for curtains. I removed the adhesive which cam on the clips and added 3m extreme outdoor double stick tape.
Re: 23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) Reply #4 – December 24, 2020, 11:26:00 am If you find an LD to your liking, you will thank the design of having a window in the shower. Moisture in any RV is the worst thing you want. As Joan said, the windows all come with a vinyl curtain and it is great to have window open to dry things or just airing things out. 1 Likes
Re: 23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) Reply #5 – December 24, 2020, 11:34:15 am Moisture is an enemy for sure...I have renewable moisture units in my camper...plug them in when they turn orange. I am looking to buy a table top dehumidifier in the future...small but do a great job from the reviews I've read. I'm sure keeping the bath window properly sealed and a shower curtain will work. Just want to know if anyone had issues with the window.
Re: 23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) Reply #6 – December 24, 2020, 04:44:05 pm The window in the TK bath is a necessity for us. We use it to pass through a hose whenever we dump the black tank. The hose connects to a spray wand we use to clean the inside walls of the tank. — Jon 3 Likes

We use ours after every shower to dry out the stall. I'm curious - why do you find it a bad idea?Steve 1 Likes

Wicking devil moisture always finds a way in....was just curious.....you don't know till you ask. I have found so much information on this forum and from so many knowledgeable folks. I just had not seen anything about this particular window. It helps when looking at one to buy if you know ahead what to look for...
Re: 23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) Reply #9 – December 24, 2020, 06:30:56 pm I ditto Jon & Loni with the window's ability to use when cleaning out black tank. It is great. I have a 31' which has the toilet and vanity separate from the shower area. We love it. I am so glad both areas have windows. A vent does not do the job that windows do. JMHO. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Re: 23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) Reply #11 – December 24, 2020, 06:52:11 pm The showers are well built and sealed. In 25 years of owning and working on LDs, the only two windows leakage problems seen were in rigs there the Factory shower curtain had been replaced with something were more fashional, but less functional, which allowed water to enter the wall. This doesn't include LD's wilth exterior window seal issues caused by the lack of maintenance. The shower window has several uses, I prefer a shower with a window instead of a skylight, YMMVLarry 1 Likes
Re: 23.5 and 24 front dinette wardrobe pictures with door open (both) Reply #12 – December 24, 2020, 07:19:11 pm Thanks Larry, I would like to say that I really enjoy looking at all the work you have done and photographed. The Flicker site is one of the best that I have seen. When I am looking at LD and talking with owners and I am asking about maintenace and repairs.....they don't recall or don't have receipts but assure me everything is like new.....it is hard to find a well cared for LD. Preventive maintenance is key to enjoying an rv. Thanks again for all the information i have gathered from your posted items...I really like the leak test you did .....taped up and blowing bubbles....now that is the way to know where the leaks are...lol 1 Likes

I'm curious - why do you find it a bad idea?Steve, windows in showers in sticks and bricks houses have a history of big problems. Not maintained well (most people don’t reseal their grout yearly), and In older homes the inside will of the window was horizontal which meant standing water.Newer homes typically slant that sill a little which helps. Solid sills with one big tile (not multiple tiles) is better, tilted so water doesn’t gather at the caulk lines. But it is uncommon to see windows in showers for most newer homes (eg last 50 years or so). Note: The same issues apply for insets / alcoves in showers that provide a shelf for items. They look cute but can also encourage sitting water and need to be slanted. Not the same window sill in RVs (wall not as thick) but protecting the window frame bottom from standing water would be a good idea.Jane
