Possible Lazy Daze purchase
Good evening, new member, going to check out a "04, 30', twin bed model tomorrow. Was interested in Lazy Daze many years ago but their are not that many of them in Wisconsin, so I went a different way. Now I have one a half an hour from me and am in the market again.
This is a copy of the ad, Up for grabs! Considered the cadillac of C class motorhomes!  Lazy Daze 30' with costum ordered twin instead of an island bed.
We recently bought this RV as the third owner, but have decided to go a different route.
My loss, your gain!Spent it's lifetime between California and Arizona.
It's very clean and in great shape for its age.
It's loaded with all the amenities that Lazy Daze had to offer in 2004, with $25,000 in upgrades.
Major upgrades consist of -
*500 watt Solar Package                     *Roadmaster anti-sway bars front and rear
*Saf-t-plus steering aid
*Complete Banks Power System
*3 Elite awnings
*Kwikee Automatic leveling system
Just to name a few of the upgrades!
This motorhome was well used and well cared for, with a folder of records.
This LD has 129,000 miles on it.  Higher miles I know, but it is a testiment to how well it handles and drives.
Rest assured all the wrinkles have been ironed out!
The mileage gives me pause. I will know more as to whether anything has been done to the engine, tranny or suspension after tomorrow, I think Lazy Daze owners keep records and that is a good thing. Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

2020 - 2004 = 16 years
129,000/16 = 8600 miles a years or so.

Key is upkeep.    Check out to generator hours 16*12= 192 months.   Good generator upkeep should be in the range of 190 hours plus.  To see if engine is any good do a oil analysis.

It's a good deal or bad depending on price.    And your willingness to put some $$$ in the continuing upkeep of a older RV.

My personal rule of thumb is to think to myself when I see an object 'what can I sell this for'.    This tends to remove the 'love' factor.   As my mother always said 'don't fall in love with something that can't love you back'.

There are a number of posts in the archives about Ford V-10 engines and their longevity.  Here is one:
engine repairs by age

The short answer is that a properly cared for v-10 will run for many many miles.  There will be repairs along the way however, and you will need to budget for them.

Everyone's individual experience is different, but I expect to rebuild the transmission on my rig (85k right now) before needing a new engine.  Spark plugs and manifold studs will need to be addressed at some point along the way.

Decided against this particular Lazy Daze and w/the scarcity of them in my part of the country, w/out traveling...  Their was some minor damage, scrape, on the back drivers side, no awning and all windows were foggy, they were asking $28,000 or best offer, she wants to sell, he doesn't. Havent decided whether I want to make a counter offer or not. I think a 27' would be better for me.

I saw the ad for that LD. She looks a little rough. The missing awning is a major drawback for me. I just bought my second LD, a 2006 mid bath 26.5, and it has 126,000 miles now. All records came with It, and I just drove it 1,900 miles from Washington to Texas without a single issue. I know that I’ll have to give it away when I’m finished with it, but if well maintained and cared for, a V10 will run for a long time!
