Suggestions: What to check when the Dog-House is out on a 98~MB 115,000 miles? October 30, 2020, 12:36:12 pm We have pulled the dog house on our 98~MB for re-torque of spark plugs and replacing some coils if needed\. The 98~MB is at 115,000 now, the last time we re-torqued was at around 75-80K and at that time we added NGK Platinum plugs. While we have the dog house out what do you suggest we replace or check since we are at 115,000? So far we have done one side of the engine done and all of the plugs were in great shape and tight. We are also doing air filter, oil & filter, Transmission fluid & filter. Any other suggestions for this Maintenance interval? Thanks Karen~Liam 98 ~MB NinA

Test brake fluid and power steering fluid. 3. Has the oil in the differential been replaced?4. Inspect the brakes. 5. Replace the serpentine belt if it’s original. 6. Inspect shocks for leaks. 7. Consider an alignment check. There’s a few other items I check annually like frame bolts, tow bar bolts, connections in the converter. And that’s my .02 worth of recommendations.

Reply #2 – October 31, 2020, 03:00:23 am Thanks Ed, We have gone through all of those items and some more over the past three years as we went from 75K to 115K where we are now. It is always good to check with people in the "Know" and experienced with these machines to stay ahead of trouble. Karen~Liam 98 ~ MB NinA 1 Likes
