How to seal the end cap
Finally getting ready to Eternabond the roof seals. I took another look at the end cap near the roof and am wondering what to do. Seal over it with E-bond or use another method that would include screwing the cap to the roof where it’s separated.
Suggestions much appreciated!

I can't say if this is 'right' or not, but I used eternabond on the flat part and then 3m 5200 caulk on the curve. 

My thinking is that I didn't want the eternabond tape stretching down to where it was clearly visible from the ground.

Cleaning the gap as far back as you can manage, taping off the seam area, then spreading in 3M 5200 fast cure would be the preferred solution. As far as securing while it cures, a screw could be used, or I have used clamping in various locations. E.g., a wood block held down on the raised area and secured with a rube-goldberg arrangement of cords, bungees, etc. may work. Try it dry before sealing.

Has anyone bought new end caps from the MS and installed them?   It seems to me that the plastic pieces are a problem long term and rather than trying to fill in gaps etc, a new piece might be better.  I understand the removing the old piece may be a real bear and of course you would have to paint the new piece.

In addition to the 3m 5200 do you need to put some kind of double sided foam tape on the inside surface of the end caps?  I removed a bunch of vhb tape when removing my end caps so wondering if i need to use something similar when resealing them.

Do what Steve described and use a screw. 3M 5200 FC alone will do the job, after cleaning. Cover the bulge with Eternabond after the repair. I don't have a problem having the Eternabond extend a short way down the back corner. 
The longevity of the coach is your primary concern.

I have bought new Factory caps to repair badly damaged caps. Some caps almost fall off, other refuse to come off, even when using a vibratory tool. In these situations, the damaged section is removed and a new piece grafted in place, using plastic epoxy.
Repairing the Factory caps is usually the best way to proceed, IMO.

I had a few small pieces of plastic break off the end caps when I removed them and I called LD for a quote on new ones ($4K for the entire set) and instead decided to repair with some plastic epoxy which seems to have done the trick.
