1987 door lock September 02, 2020, 11:52:02 am Is there a replacement door latch that can fit exactly? I believe I have a Bargman L300 for which I have not found parts or any way to repair. Actually, the outside handle just broke apart and is not fixable. The dead bolt is completely separate and works fine. There is no model number or name on the latch but somewhere I came across the Bargman name.

Re: 1987 door lock Reply #3 – September 02, 2020, 01:52:29 pm Hi John; I found some stuff going back to 2003 in the archives. I commented on another person looking for a lock. RV Keyless door lock I noted then that my old lock had apparently disappeared around 2006. A friends 2001 MB passage lock cylinder had quit working, but the dead bolt was ok. At least the handle was intact, unlike yours. His couldn't be locked. So He is still just using the dead bolt. I often pull really hard on mine, only to find that I had locked it after all. That must put a lot of stress on the inside mechanism. I bet yours isn't the only one to have broken. I rarely lock mine now, and depend on the dead bolt. The lock reviewed in the 2017 flashback might be 'massaged' to fit and work, with adaptor plates and such. Might be a bit of a project. I wonder if the Bargeman lock's disappearance had anything to do with the FMVSS federal standard for door locks. Thinking of someone leaning on the door while motorhome was in motion. I guess you could lock both dead bolts, and the handle lock. John E. Let us know how this lock worked, If you go with this. Pictures always interesting. RonB
