remove the itfluorescent light cover June 18, 2020, 10:27:34 pm How do you remove the fluorescent light cover on the florescent interior lights, I don't want to break it. Thanks Liam~Karen 98 ~ MB NinA
Re: remove the itfluorescent light cover Reply #1 – June 18, 2020, 11:22:39 pm If your hand is big enough, use your thumbs and (whichever) fingers to “pinch” each side of the cover about 3” or so from the ends. Wiggle the cover gently while squeezing it; the cover should come off. Be careful; old plastic, even though not exposed to directly to UV light, can get brittle as it ages.
Re: remove the itfluorescent light cover Reply #2 – June 18, 2020, 11:42:25 pm Thanks Joan, so easy and brittle. Oh! Boy! What a surprise, they are a recessed fixture, what a hole it creates! Karen~Liam 98 ~ MB NinA

Re: remove the itfluorescent light cover Reply #6 – June 19, 2020, 02:17:56 pm I will include a photo when we are done and post it here on LDO. We changed out the ceiling Kitchen light with a 110v Saturn light we got from Amazon. We have been trying to find 12v lighting for son's tiniHouse. We have come up with a solution of installing 110v fixtures wired for 12v and use LED12v bulbs, they are out there but difficult to find. Re: remove the itfluorescent light cover Reply #7 – June 20, 2020, 01:56:57 am I have that exact same style lights in my house kitchen, but I dumped the 13" Costco light because it was too yellow. I got the 10" and 14" natural white 4000K lights. Inside are non replaceable 110V multiple di chip LED's. For the motorhome I find the M4 LED florescent tube simulators to be superior to fit in the standard fixtures. No woodworking needed. The conversion is really simple. For the main entry light in a MB I put in a 48 LED array from Blackhawk. I think I got the bright white. Wedge Base Rv Premium Quality 12/24 Volt White or Soft White At 450 lumen, very bright. Good for the main light for the kitchen/dinette area, but maybe a little too bright for other areas. This isn't the 6000K hot blue white color. I find those to be too garish, hard on my eyes. Black hawk has a similar light at 300 lumens suitable for the cabover bunk lights, I've got 4, and bathroom in my TK. RonB
Re: remove the itfluorescent light cover Reply #8 – June 20, 2020, 04:06:53 pm It will be interesting to see if the 12-volt LED bulbs can handle the bumps and vibrations of rough roads, the LED elements look fragile and unsupported. Time will tell.Larry
