Sewer hose door
The latch seems to be stuck on the sewer hose door.
I read in searching the forum that the latch can be obstructed by the hose inside.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I do not want to force it and make the situation worse.

I am hopefully camping the first time this weekend and wanted to clean the fresh water lines the and do the first tanks evacuation. They show a quarter of the way full.
The Black tank I was going to put a 3 gallons of water in with the happy camper enzyme after I clear it out .
The fresh water lines I was going to do the small amount of bleach followed by the vinegar system flush.
I have a 2000 MB, I know it is not rocket science but there is a learning curve and knowledge can assist in not making a mess.

I have a tasteless water hose, water filter, water tank filler clear hose , water regulator gauge, and water bandit.
A flush king, camco sidewinder rv sewer hose (if needed), happy camper odor free enzyme, sewer hose and attachments and gloves.
All the above items I read from the forum were helpful in this process.

I do not know for certain which tank is in front and behind the wheel well.
Thanks, Kimberley, 2000 MB

In front of the tire is the black tank. Behind the tire is gray.

I made the mistake of assuming the opposite the first time I dumped the tanks. Thank goodness I was still able to wash out the hose with clean (non-potable) water afterward. :-)

Good luck and have fun on your first LD adventure!

Of course you know the 'relative' location of your toilet so try to determine that location from outside the RV. Then, look underneath and follow the tube from each dump valve. The black tank will be in the direction of the toilet. Hope this makes sense!   ::)

Try pressing in firmly on the center of the door while turning the latch. The hose can press on the inside of the door, jamming the latch.

If Larry's suggestion doesn't work, then you might try unclamping and pulling off the flexible housing from underneath the rig, with the hose inside. If that is what was jamming the latch it should solve the problem. If not, it gives you access to the inside of the compartment to find the obstruction. Expect unpleasant conditions and prepare...
