Broken MB Bathroom Blind May 31, 2020, 11:44:11 pm The mechanism that opens and closes the blind in our midbath bathroom window is broken. The rod is still attached, but turning it does not open or close the blind. We are thinking we may need to replace the entire blind. Does anyone have any suggestions for doing this? Is the blind a common size that might be available at Lowe's or Home Depot? Or would it be best to just contact the factory for a replacement? Thanks,Paul
Re: Broken MB Bathroom Blind Reply #1 – June 01, 2020, 05:48:23 am Unless the blind has other problems, the internal parts can be bought. Or a cheap donor blind can supply the part you need. Its been a long time since I repaired some but I remember it was pretty easy. RonB
Re: Broken MB Bathroom Blind Reply #2 – June 01, 2020, 07:05:18 pm As a property manager we are repairing broken blinds all the time. That part is particularly susceptible to becoming brittle. Take the entire unit down and take it apart. Once you have the actual part you can do a search for blind repair parts. If you damage the unit beyond repair, it is simple to order a new blind. 1 Likes
Re: Broken MB Bathroom Blind Reply #3 – June 01, 2020, 09:04:40 pm The blind can be fixed or replaced. You can find cut to length mini-blinds at any home improvement store. You can also remove the blind.
