Tank Monitor Gauge- Not Working May 27, 2020, 07:57:24 pm Hey LD Club. Quick question on my 1995 MB. Lost all lights on tank gauge the other day. Completely dark. Simple fuse issue? Any advice on where it’s located/slot #? Rig is older and I don’t have manual on this...Side note - Just added 190 go power solar panel and 1750 inverter. Never had this issue happen prior to solar install. Could some new fuse be the culprit? Also, I’m guessing it happened when Genset labored to get AC going. It was abnormally hard to get genset up to working load speed. Thanks for the help! Stay well and hope to you out there soon. 🤙
Re: Tank Monitor Gauge- Not Working Reply #1 – May 27, 2020, 08:48:07 pm I would guess the dash light fuse is in the fuse panel under the dash but I have no idea which fuse. The dash lights are powered through the headlight switch, if defective, that could cut the power to the dash lights. You need to acquire the owner's manual for your year chassis, it should show where and what fuse it is.Ford's site may be able to help you, they show owner manuals back to 1996, if you enter a 1996 E350, the site will ask for the VIN number. Enter it and see what happens. Even a 1996 manual could be useful.https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/how-tos/owner-manuals/sitemap.htmlThe dash and chassis electrical system is separate from the coach, solar and generator electrical, except at the isolator, I doubt if there is a connection. Chasing electrical gremlins can be very frustrating and requires good and sequential troubleshooting skills. Welcome to the world of old RVs.Larry

Re: Tank Monitor Gauge- Not Working Reply #3 – May 27, 2020, 11:13:06 pm Yes, exactly. Everything functions normally, I’m just guessing something arched during the solar install and blew a fuse somewhere in the line. Not sure if it’s easy and located in brown panel or somewhere else...
Re: Tank Monitor Gauge- Not Working Reply #4 – May 27, 2020, 11:48:04 pm If you are talking about the information center, fuse number 8 from left to right in the power center has the TV antenna, monitor panel, and the water heater on it. Bare in mind ours is a 94 Mid Bath and is most likely different from yours. It's a 10 amp fuse.Jon 1 Likes
Re: Tank Monitor Gauge- Not Working Reply #5 – May 28, 2020, 12:56:01 am I’ll give it a try. Thanks much for the advice!
Re: Tank Monitor Gauge- Not Working Reply #6 – May 28, 2020, 09:56:19 pm It's the #8 fuse (10 amps) in my 99 that controls the monitor panel, hot water heater and TV. I spent several days chasing a short in this circuit. I finally found in the the TV next to the 12 volt plug even though I hadn't touched that part of the circuit. My best guess is that vibration from starting the generator wiggled the wires just enough to cause the short. George & JoAnn99 MB
