Replacing Kwikee electric steps with manual steps
Hi All:    I've exhausted options trying to get my electric steps to work.   In trying to remove parts (motor, linkage, gear) I've failed and broken and stripped rusted bolts.     I started to remove the  assembly (4 bolts accessed inside door below rubber matting), before stopping.    My LD is in a rural part of Mexico, so, trouble shooting parts might lead to more frustration.

I plan to install a manual step and the factory has them for about $225+ or so.     I see steps online for less but the bolt pattern doesn't look right.

Just wondering if anyone has done this and if there's anything I need to know.      I don't have a model number for the steps.

The steps have worked flawlessly, otherwise, since I've had the coach ('02) but have had a manuel step in another MH and it was no problem for me.    Same amount of lubrication and general maintenance.     For me, a manual step is one less thing to take care of.

Any advice?     I'll just buy the step from LD if I don't find a better solution.

Thanks and happy trails.

Changing to a manual step shouldn't be difficult once the old step is removed.
Not sure the mounting bolt holes are exactly the same but at worse, you would need to drill a couple new holes for the mounting bolts.
Go for it.
