Opinion on used LD for sale May 29, 2020, 03:37:02 am Hi,I will be full timing at the end of the summer. Iam currently looking at a 2006 50th Anniversary Edition LD with 57000 miles for 48995$.It looks well maintained and of course I would have an inspection. I am wondering if anyone would consider that price too high.It is the floor plan I love and I know used lazy daze are hard to come by.Any opinions would be helpfulThank you-safe travelsKaty

IMO, the $49000 asking price of a 2006, even one that is in superior condition for a 14-year-old rig, is about $15000 over what it should sell for. Three red flags that suggest to me that you might be too willing to overpay (and this has likely been noted by the seller if you've seen the rig in person and talked with him/her): "love the floor plan", "will be fulltiming at the end of the summer", and "used Lazy Dazes are hard to come by". Not saying that you shouldn't check this rig out thoroughly for possible purchase, but the asking price is wildly inflated. A rig that "looks well-maintained" can have hidden warts and need services and replacement components that will add a few thousand more to the initial selling price. Since you intend to fulltime, and anything you buy will be your home, I suggest putting all due diligence (and price negotiating skills) into play.YMMV, as always.

When I ask myself this question I tend to remove the 'love' factor. My mother shared with me a great saying 'never fall in love with something that can't love you back.'. glen 1 Likes

In the past, the factory’s yearly price increases were pretty consistent. With the new Ford chassis rolling out in 2020, and the reported hefty price increase associated with it, I’m thinking the guide is becoming less and less accurate and useful but our moderators can make the call if they want to continue updating it.

From my research, I figured it was about 15000 above- I did not let him know how much I love it or that I am going full time. He is not willing to budge and is asking OVER what he is asking. Almost like he thinks he will get a bidding war because it is a "Rare 50th Anniversary Edition"I appreciate all of your input- Hope to meet you all on the road! Thanks!

It's a snapshot of a used RV market that is old enough to attend college. Further, the original survey was based on asking price and not selling price, meaning that price points like the one from the beginning of the thread would have been included.In my observation, prices deviated below the 'guide' around 2010 when the demand for RVs was way down and gas was $4 a gallon. A straight 2020 guide update would imply that the 2020 update makes all previous models more valuable, which doesn't sound reasonable. In the end, a buyer preparing to spend $50,000 on a used Lazy Daze should consider what else they can get in the RV market for the same price. Condition matters a lot, but we don't know the options it might have. Condition of the roof, paint, insides. Maintenance records. Has it towed? Age of batteries, tires, etc.. Do you have a link to pictures? Included options can help the price along. I bought a used 2001 MB in 2017 for some friends. The price was high, but when I got there it had a re-enforced hitch, tow bar and brake buddy, new batteries (one week old), replaced 'fridge, replaced fuel line, and more extras. And in the color that I knew my friends wanted. They planned to tow (a Jeep) so the price was good. My friends were going to rent, but after 7 months living in it, (and learning more about 'other brands') they still have it. RonB

RonBI know the Anniversary editions had some nice upgrades from the models of the same era but I’m thinking the newer models are even better equipped. Waiting as well . . .
