Glen,
Interesting material and sounds like they are working the bugs out.  I wonder if there will be good sources for calcium titanate in places more accessible (and friendly to the USA) than the Ural Mountains?

Same thing occurred to me.  Was Russia going to be able to corner the market and dictate use?
Apparently not according to this on world wide production of titanium ore are shown below.   Apparently the greatest reserves are in Australia, China and South Africa

We'll see how this turns out. 13 years ago we were promised cheap, printable solar panels. Make your whole motorhome a solar collector.
Nanosolar:
Years later, they still have not hit the big time nor have consumer solar panels increased much in efficiency.  On the positive side, panels have dropped in price due to mass production.
New Solar Technology?

Reading many sites on the net today reminds me of the predictions I grew up with reading Popular Science,  Popular Mechanics and the other similar magazines of the era.  So many wonderful predictions of the future that never came true.
Strangely, many things I read in science fiction magazines and books have come true.

Still waiting for my rocket back pack.

As a high school kid, I read that marine biology was the "field of the future".  After working 5 years as a NOAA marine biologist, I tripled my income by working as a commercial diver at the bottom of the ocean and under ships, but not on anything alive.

I guess it is still the field of the future.

Computers were to create a paperless society. . . .
A doctor had a clogged sink and called a plumber.  3 minutes work had the problem cleared an a bill for $120.
The doctor exclaimed "I'm a doctor, and I can't charge $120 for three minutes work!".
The plumber calmly replied "When I was a doctor, neither could I".
Things are usually looking up for a commercial diver  ;)
