 I didn't say to use the white bulbs behind the red and amber marker light lenses, but you could do that, after all the original incandescents are white. It is more efficient, and a more pleasing color match, to use the red and amber LED lights matched with the corresponding colored lenses.       In my post, reply #22, I didn't see Parusskys prior post; he recommended the exact replacement bulbs that I used.    The two links I provided, show a red for one, and an amber for the other as recommended bulbs. I apologize for not seeing Parussky's earlier comment. (must have been on a previous page)  RonB

Incandescent bulbs coated with a clear transparent color are very broad spectrum, with a broad peak at that color. You could put a red bulb behind an amber lens, and it would remain pretty bright - if somewhat off-color. LEDs, on the other hand, have very narrow peaks. A red LED behind a clear or red lens will look bright, but behind an amber lens will look very dim. A white LED has a broad range of color peaks to produce the white color, and behind a colored lens will also lose a lot of brightness as the other emitted colors are suppressed.
