Craigslist Scam
I received the message below and feel it is worthwhile posting since we have at any given time a bunch of folks looking for used Lazy Dazes.

Chris

We joined this forum several weeks ago because we are looking to buy a used Lazy Daze. We are in the panhandle of Florida and they are very hard to find here, Im  searching CL, RV Trader, Facebook market place  etc.  So imagine my delight when 1 popped up on Valdosta GA Craigslist  its only 3 hours away!! The  lady told us her husband died etc and that the camper was in Indiana  at a freight forwarder.  So for the next 3 days we went back and forth how were supposed to do a wire transfer etc. We contacted a local rv tech up in Indiana to go there and do a multi point inspection and we also pulled a advanced Carfax report on the camper. Turns out the VIN  number shows it was in an accident etc .  They wouldn't allow us to inspect the vehicle! I also tried to trace the freight forwarder thru Federal Motor Vehicle Safety registration number and nothing came up as well as BBB etc Google reviews for their address in Merivile Indiana, I contacted CL, Carfax and I called the police up there, The dispatcher told me they had had 2 calls about this company.  I'm super bummed we wasted our time and they are scammers out there. I hope you can do some kind of a post about this as im new to this forum.  Still looking to by and I hope no one gets taken by this.

I have dealt with two of these scammers on CL. Always a death in the family or medical emergency. Seller is always not at the same location as vehicle...which has been “sealed for delivery”

There is a special place in hell for these people

I'd like to welcome you to the Neighborhood and hope you find this place as helpful and friendly as we have.  Are you looking to buy new or used?   Finally, we hope to hear more about your LD plans and so forth.
