Wish that the Suzuki Jimny were available in the U.S. I need to update my '92 GEO. 
Still the 'Baby Jeep' doesn't even have a name yet. Might not be sold in the U.S. either, and might not be towable.   RonB

And it may not pass the Federal crash tests, the reason why so many vehicle became wider and longer in the early 2000's.
The Jeeps in production during this time all were redesigned with thicker doors, for better side impact protection as well as more front end structure for offset impacts. All of the Jeeps became much heavier, beyond the 4000-lbs hitch capacity.

If smaller 4X4 vehicles could pass the testing, they would be sold here, the world is full of lightweight, off-road capable vehicles, too bad none of them can be sold in the US..
If they were, I would probably be first in line waiting for one to replace my aging fleet of Cherokees, there is nothing sold here today that can go almost anywhere with five passengers, in all-weather comfort and weigh under 4000-lbs.
