Local Historical Places
Not wanting to incur the wrath of the Moderators for hi-jacking the thread "Cracked Paint" but wanting to pick up on old historical places that haven't changed over the years, such as the Mother ship, etc. here's a question...

Does anyone know where the movie "For Whom the Bell Tolls" was filmed? You old timers will recall that it starred Garry Cooper and Ingrid Bergman.

I know the answer, it's one of my favorite places and it's right here in our own Sierra Nevada Mountains. To be more specific, the location was Kennedy Meadows Resort and Pack Station, just off of Hwy 108, the Sonora Pass Road. Of course the resort has burned down a couple of times but you can't change history. It will forever live in my heart, beginning with the 1st time I ever laid eyes on it back in 1958.

But there have also been other films, like Mail Order Bride, Big Valley and TV segments of Little House on the Prairie.
