2004 mb power to tv
Hello,
I have read all of the posts I could find, but, alas, nothing about how to power a new tv using original wiring of the old Sharp analog. We had a heck of a time mounting the new 19" Jensen 12 volt. We ended up bending the curved tv holder on the bottom of the original mount, backwards. Then we were able to use the original backplate to mount the tv, and kept the really nice original device. Now, though, we find a pin connector for power, but can't figure out how to adapt it. We would like to use that as the power supply for the new tv, but have no idea how to do so. Does anyone have suggestions? I know I can slip the 12 volt power supply cord through the hole in the tv cabinet to the 12v receptacle in the adjoining cabinet, but I was hoping to save that for a blueray player. I just wish I knew how to deal with the weird gray power cord. Ant suggestions?
Thanks much. I love this forum.

Eva,

Can you post a photo of the connections and wiring harnesses you are working with? A photo of the pin connectors would be helpful.

I find that Amazon can have many harnesses available to make retrofitting possible and very affordable.

YouTube can have very helpful videos in these regards as well.

Having a ‘15 RB, I am not familiar with the wiring of an older LD TV. Is there a cigarette lighter style outlet on the wall?

All you need here is a 'Y' connector. You insert the 'leg' of the Y into the 12v receptacle and you now have two outlets, one for the TV and another for the Blue Ray.   ;)

Thanks for the advice and I am taking it and getting a y connector! Great idea! We are new to tv use, but my husband said he really wants to be able to watch football this fall while we are traveling. We also purchased a portable dish satellite system. Again, thanks.
