Easy, cheap way to help make your Jensen TV much louder August 17, 2019, 06:19:08 pm My TV volume was way too low, especially when I had the generator and/or AC running. I had to search other RV forums and bought a cord to run from the rear of my TV to a bluetooth speaker I already had, that has a 3.5mm input. I may get a cheap home theatre speaker down the line. The cords run from $6-$15 on Amazon. Hope this helps out members, the posts I searched for here are many years old. On some programs I get a small echo, it goes away when you go to start up menu and turn OFF the TV speakers and just use the speaker you are plugging into. 5 Likes

Re: Easy, cheap way to help make your Jensen TV much louder Reply #2 – August 18, 2019, 10:02:49 am For playing movies, concerts, and other recorded material, where I want better fidelity than the TV speakers can offer, for years I have used a compact 2.1 computer speaker system. They include amplified stereo speakers and a subwoofer, and many run from a small 'brick' with a 12V or so output, so will run spliced into coach power. If you go this route, I recommend that beyond looking at the specs, you find a store where you can listen to them comparatively. Some systems may include a center channel speaker, useful if your TV location doesn't allow symmetrical speaker placement.Steve
Re: Easy, cheap way to help make your Jensen TV much louder Reply #3 – August 18, 2019, 01:32:29 pm Steve,High fidelity RV sound for movie night is very enjoyable. That being said my DW and I were having a great time in Yellowstone two years ago and decided to watch the latest Star Trek movie. Our larger Sony Bluetooth speaker made the films battle scenes explosive and engaging. Loosing ourselves in the film we lost track of time until the sound track included a large thumping sound that seemed to emanate form the forward LD windows. Fantastic! That is until we realized the special sound effects were coming from a camper trying to sleep and the thumping sound was him pounding on the window.Apparently he was unable to reach the “zzzz zone” and didn’t appreciate us sharing Captain Kirks adventures with the rest of the CG. Quickly returning to planet Yellowstone I quickly apologized and lowered the volume. Since then, I’ve been cautious about my High Volume High Fidelity adventures into movie night. 😎 Kent 4 Likes
Re: Easy, cheap way to help make your Jensen TV much louder Reply #4 – August 18, 2019, 04:04:12 pm I have been a long time user of wireless headsets (bought a house with the master bedroom open to the cathedral living room and even low TV sounds vibrates up to disturb the sleeper). Over the decades this has worked well to not disturb others. We added headsets (current ones are cheap wired ones) with a gadget to turn one cord into many. Someone cord from the player headset connection to the gadget to the two headsets. When the show is too quiet to hear over the air conditioner we use these. Clear loud sound and no noise to disturb neighbors.JaneSent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone

I guess they do the job. I have Bose n c ear buds that I listen to TV with (on a long extension cable), and the sound is excellent even with a little hum.Chris
Re: Easy, cheap way to help make your Jensen TV much louder Reply #6 – August 18, 2019, 08:49:17 pm Chris - lol I like Bose but we are using cheap ones - right now we are using these ones for about $14. So if a cat chews a cord or we sit on them or mistreat them I don't worry. Amazon.com: Egghead Stereo School Headphone with Leatherette Ear Cushion,...I like H800 headsets Amazon.com: Logitech H800 Bluetooth Wireless Headset with Mic for PC,...for Skype and phone calls but it can be difficult for them to hear me with the air conditioning on in the RV.I have a really good sennheiser headset for work but i have not used it in the RV yet so I don't know if they would be affected by the air conditioner or not.JaneSent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.
