I have roof anxiety August 18, 2019, 06:29:44 pm I’d like to refresh some sealant on the roof but I have such terrible roof anxiety. Getting up the ladder is good, getting down is really awkward I find.

Re: I have roof anxiety Reply #2 – August 18, 2019, 09:29:31 pm Jacob - do you have someone to hold the ladder, direct you, and if necessary guide your foot? Do you have a really solid ladder? We bought this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Gorilla-Ladders-22-ft-Reach-MPX-Aluminum-Multi-Position-Ladder-with-375-lb-Load-Capacity-Type-IAA-Duty-Rating-GLMPX-22/303903543 about 20 years ago and thought what took us so long. If I was buying a new one for the LD I would get the 26' one so in the A position it would go a couple feet above the roof for a better transition. Very solid ladder - no worries for one person unless to push against it to get on the roof and push it over.JaneSent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone

Re: I have roof anxiety Reply #4 – August 19, 2019, 08:11:31 pm So I just read soemewhere that someone uses the emergency hatch above the can bed to get on the roof. That actually sounds like a great idea!

That actually sounds like a great idea! Our '83 had no ladder - the hatch was the ONLY safe way I had to get on the roof. Still, it helps to be a contortionist to do the deed, and it is difficult to get the hatch to stay fully open. I MUCH prefer access by the ladder on our current '04, and descending it is not a problem either. Ours also has the rear railing, which I find handy for securing tools, hose and such placed up there via stepladder on driver's side.Steve
