They never learn ....
Seems folks don't understand -- a male bison spends the winter along fighting it's natural hunters - bears and wolf.    Humans are just not very must of a roadblock.

This summer we saw some crazy stuff people will go through to get that perfect close-up with a wild animal and not just in Yellowstone. A couple of time we though we might witness that same thing.

So, are those the parents running away, only to leave the girl behind?!

I guess the old adage of I don't have to be faster than the (bison, in this case), I just have to be faster than you, holds true.   :'(

We have a herd of elk in our community and sometimes folks (usually newbies or visitors) get way too close.  Haven't heard of anyone getting hit yet but it's only a matter of time. Those are some big animals!   :o

And then there are folks who ignore safety signage because they think they know more. This photo was taken on Waimea Canyon on Kauai where this young woman had to get the shot.

Jules, Kauai is on the list for next year but I promise if we visit Waimea Canyon, we won't do that!  By the way, we have never been to Kauai so any "must see" advice is appreciated.  Feel free to PM me!
