Complete roof reseal
Well I wanted to reseal my roof last summer. But with the housing development going in right behind my house there was just to much dirt in the air and on the motor home to do a good job. Then came the house flood and rebuild that took months. So I made a appointment to let a shop do the job. Was supposed to be worked on in the first week of December. But broke my leg November 28 so had to reschedule. Took it in last week and got it back yesterday. All seams and penetrations resealed pulled a/c installed new gasket, replaced worn vent lid in bathroom and a new max air cover on my fantastic fan. I wish I could get up there to check it out close up. But my legs still a little weak to be roof climbing. Thus the picture from my house lol.

I think I need a new escape hatch. That one looks really old while everything else is white. I wonder if it’s paintable.

Hi Lynn, I didn't want to be the first to mention it, but since you did, the yellow is a good sign that it is about time to replace it. Mine was like a potato chip. Just a bump, and part of it broke off.  I'd paint the new one to preserve it's life. It needs to be really scrubbed and prepared for paint. I has a good mold release still on it. Use a good UV resistant paint. I bought one from the mothership, I just drove there to get it. If shipping is too high, Hengs has them. (somebody here just replaced it IIRC). I do know someone who had one fabricated out of aluminum, with insulation inside, but he said he'd never do that again!   RonB

Yea Ron I will have to replace it. Good to know the mothership still has them. I will have to wait until the leg is stronger and the sticker shock wears off from the reseal job lol.
